Machynlleth to Dolgellau
A committed opening stage from the Dyfi Valley into southern Eryri, with forest tracks, slate villages, and a practical first overnight around Dolgellau or the Mawddach.
Riding notes
Forest roads, bridleways, quiet lanes, rougher valley tracks, and some steeper climbing.
Resupply: Start stocked from Machynlleth, then treat Dolgellau as the main reliable resupply and overnight hub.
Watch for: Do not underestimate the first day. Weather, wet surfaces, and loaded bikes can make this feel harder than the distance suggests.
